Senior ministers, Nadda discuss BJP’s strategy for monsoon session

Senior Union ministers and BJP chief JP Nadda met on Tuesday to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament, beginning July 19.

A party insider said the meeting took place at Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence and lasted for nearly three hours.

Union Ministers Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Pralhad Joshi, Bhupender Yadav, Arjun Ram Meghwal and others were present in the meeting along with party chief Nadda.

“The strategy for the upcoming monsoon session was discussed. Strategies to counter opposition attacks on issues like COVID management, inflation and others were discussed in detail,” the party insider said.

The government is expecting a stormy session with opposition parties likely to corner it on Covid management during the second wave and fuel prices.

“It was decided that we would counter the opposition’s attack by highlighting the government’s efforts to contain the second wave and the third wave’s management plans and measures for the people and boost the economy,” a source said. “

After the appointment of Union Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot as the Governor of Karnataka, the BJP also has to appoint a new leader in the Rajya Sabha. The names of senior party leaders and some Union ministers are already doing the rounds for possible replacements.

This will be the first Parliament session after the assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
