New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry on Tuesday said that people above 60 years of age need not upload or provide a certificate from a doctor for the disease.Precaution” or a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“All persons aged 60 years and above with co-morbidities will not be required to submit or produce any certificate from the doctor at the time of administration of the precautionary dose,” the Union Health Ministry said in a statement.
“Such individuals are expected to consult their doctor before deciding to take a precautionary dose,” it added.
“The personnel deployed on election duty in the poll-bound states will also be included in the category of Frontline Workers (FLWs),” the statement further said.

“The appointment can be booked online or onsite (walk-in). Services in on-site (walk-in) mode will be available subject to the availability of vaccination slots,” the health ministry said.
COVID Vaccine Guidelines
The Health Ministry had issued guidelines for this on Monday. Precautionary dosage for health care and frontline workers and 60+ population with co-morbidities.
All people aged 60 years and above with comorbidities who have received two doses of the COVID vaccine will be given a precautionary dose from January 10, 2022.
“Priority and sequencing of this precautionary dose will be based on the completion of 9 months i.e. 39 weeks from the date of administration of the second dose,” the guidelines state.
HCWs, FLWs and citizens of 60 years of age or above with co-morbidities will be able to register for the precautionary dosage through their existing Co-Win account.
The eligibility for the precautionary dose will be based on the date of administration of the second dose entered in the Co-Win system, which will send an SMS to avail the precautionary dose, the ministry said.
The details of the administration of the precautionary dose will appear in the vaccination certificate.
