Selfie: Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi announce their first film together, promise ‘laughter and emotion’

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi have announced their first film together. On Wednesday, the actors took to their social media platforms and revealed that they will be working together in a film titled Selfie and will be directed by Good Newwz director Raj Mehta. This announcement was made through a special video.

In this, Akshay and Emraan are suddenly seen dancing at the bus stand with a group of dancers. The video of the selfie announcement, ended with a selfie! Sharing the video, Akshay wrote, “Introducing #Selfie, a journey that will leave you with lots of fun, laughter & emotions. Shooting starts soon!” Emraan wrote, “Extremely humbled and honored to share the driving seat with Akshay Kumar! Get ready, strike your pose as #Selfee is coming to you soon! Directed by Raj Mehta, shooting begins soon !”

Earlier in the day, Akshay and Emraan teased that an announcement was being made. The actors revealed that they have joined forces with Karan Johar. A few hours ago, Akshay and Emraan had shared their pictures through their social media handles, in which they were seen taking selfies. Dressed in dark blue jeans, a bright golden colored jacket and goggles, Akshay was seen posing at Marine Drive. Posting the picture on his Twitter and Instagram handles, Akshay wrote, “Starting my day with a selfie! Because why not”.

Emraan too shared a solo selfie, hinting at their collaboration. Imran wore a pair of blue jeans with a royal blue sweatshirt and was also seen taking selfies. “Naya Roop, Naya Josh! Inspired by Akshay Kumar to start today with Selfie!” He captioned the post.

Luckily, the actors didn’t keep the audience in suspense for long and cleared the air with a follow-up post. The actors shared a picture in which they are seen sitting on their respective bikes. While Akshay was seen taking a selfie, Imran was seen posing with him. Akshay captioned the picture as “Found myself the perfect selfie partner.” Also, he asked KJo if he had upped the selfie game or not.

Though the title has been announced, the makers have kept the plot details a secret. However, rumors are rife that the film is going to be a remake of the Malayalam comedy-drama Driving Licence.
