Chadrapur: Forest Department has obtained Forest Custody Remand (FCR) of all the six accused arrested in connection with poaching and trade. tiger skin on Tuesday.
The accused are being questioned about the involvement of poaching and other accomplices. Central Chanda Forest Division patrol team led by RFO Phanendra Gadewar had trapped the five accused in Gondpipri, where they were selling tiger skin, its dog and mustache to a fake customer late on Sunday night. Preliminary investigation revealed that the people trading in hides and other parts were not directly involved in the poaching. The accused had named the main poachers who had provided the tiger skins for sale.
Taking the link, RFO Gadewar took his team to Bhamragarh in Gadchiroli on Monday. They found Doli Pungti, the sixth accused and the main hunter, at a remote location near the Maharashtra-Telangana border and arrested him.
It is learned that a tiger was hunted somewhere in Bhamragarh. However, sources said that the modalities of absconding and other accomplices are yet to be gathered. The forest officials on Tuesday produced all the six accused before the JMFC court and sought FCR for four days, to which the JMFC court immediately agreed.
