Announcing the verdict, Chief Justice of Pakistan Omar Ata Bandiyal said that the Prime Minister does not have the right to advise the President to dissolve the Assembly. The Supreme Court declared the deputy speaker’s controversial decision to dismiss the no-confidence motion in Parliament unconstitutional. The five-member bench also declared the dissolution of Parliament as ‘unconstitutional’ in a unanimous decision. The court ordered the Speaker to convene a no-confidence motion on April 9 (Saturday) at 10 am in the assembly.
