Ambala Air Base: Security personnel of the Indian Air Force arrested a ‘suspicious’ youth, who was trying to scale the 12 feet high outer wall of the Ambala Air Base in Haryana. Notably, the Ambala air base is home to the newly-inducted Rafale fighter aircraft.

Officials said that around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, the security personnel of the Air Force were alerted when they saw the suspicious youth scaling the wall of the Ambala Air Force Station. He further said that the security officials immediately called 112 and reported the matter.

Case filed against the arrested youth

In view of the seriousness of the matter, a case has been registered against the accused at Panjokhara police station. According to preliminary investigation, the youth is a resident of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Ambala’s Additional Superintendent of Police Pooja Dabla said that the arrested suspect has been identified as Ramu. He will be interrogated on remand and his mobile will also be checked, he said, adding that police investigation into the matter is underway.

Punjab Police arrests 21 people in drug-related cases

Last month, the Punjab Police arrested at least 21 people and seized huge quantities of drugs in a special drive launched against suspects across the state.

A state-wide coordinated special operation “OPS Eagle” was launched on Friday to trace and round-up suspects at sensitive locations for their verification.
