Section 144 re-imposed in Noida city regarding upcoming festivals, examinations

The Gautam Budh Nagar administration on Friday decided to continue with Section 144 already imposed in the district due to several upcoming incidents in the months of July and August. This order will be in force from July 1 to August 31. Earlier also, Section 144 was imposed and restrictions were imposed during the festive season due to the possibility of spread of Covid. “Jagannath Shibha Yatra on 1st July, Bakrid on 10th July,… Muharram on 9th August followed by Independence Day celebrations on 15th August are some of the events that may attract miscreants to disturb the peace and law and order situation in the district. are,” read an order of Additional DCP, Law and Order, Ashutosh Dwivedi.

It also said that there will be many competitive examinations in the same period for which the administration will have to prepare to conduct these examinations smoothly. Keeping these circumstances in mind, ADCP Dwivedi issued guidelines under Section 144 of CrPC. It will be mandatory for all people to wear masks. For any religious, political, cultural and sports event in the month of July and August, it will be mandatory to take prior permission from the authority.

“No one shall be allowed to offer prayers at any disputed place or to incite others to offer prayers,” the order said. According to the guidelines, those who disobey the order will be challaned under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
