A case has been registered against a man for allegedly harassing a 14-year-old girl and abetting her suicide in Kairana town of neighboring Shamli district here.
He told that the girl was a class IX student of a private school. According to the police, the accused has been identified as 25-year-old Ankit Kumar. He told that the accused is the son of the principal of the school where the girl studied.
The family members alleged in the complaint that the accused used to harass the girl and on March 26 she jumped from the school building under suspicious circumstances, police said. He said that the school management did not inform the police about the incident.
He said the family was allegedly forced by the management to cremate the body. He said that the police have registered a case against the accused under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. He said that a suicide note was also recovered from the spot.
