New Delhi: Amid differences of opinion on many issues including the Russia-Ukraine war, India once again made the world aware of its diplomacy and growing stature by reaching consensus among all the member countries on the New Delhi Declaration.
For the last several months, the whole world was keeping an eye on India regarding the G20 Summit. The 18th G20 summit was brilliantly organized in India.
Global Media Was Skeptical Of India’s Efficiency
Before the start of the G20 summit, some international media were doubting India’s diplomacy but now they are praising the developing nation to prove its efficiency.

“Diplomatic Victory”
The international media is calling the agreement on the Delhi Declaration an unexpected success for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, removing many differences including the Russia-Ukraine war at the G20 summit. International media is calling it a diplomatic victory for India by refraining from mentioning Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
According to the international media, the New Delhi Declaration of the G20 countries, under pressure from India, the US and its Western allies adopted a much softer stance towards Russia. According to foreign media, Russia was criticized a lot at the Bali Summit in Indonesia.

Not only this, the way India organized the G20 Summit on the theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ in a grand manner has also been termed as historic.

At the same time, ‘CNN’ has described the New Delhi Declaration of G20 as an unexpected success for host India and Prime Minister Modi. ‘CNN’ further writes that this reflects a much softer and flexible stance adopted by the US and member countries.
On the other hand, BBC in its article has described the successful organization of G20 and the Delhi Declaration as a positive way to reduce tension between Western countries and Russia. The BBC says it is designed to defuse the Russia-Ukraine war. The newspaper writes that in the Delhi declaration, no such language has been used in condemning Moscow which was used in Bali, Indonesia last year.
The ‘New York Times’ has said in its article that there were little chances of consensus on the issue of Ukraine among the group countries in the New Delhi Summit. At the same time, due to India’s diplomacy and strategy, the New Delhi Declaration did not condemn Russia’s attack on Ukraine, but contrary to expectations, it expressed sorrow over the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
