The Supreme Court made a strong comment on the petition for compensation to the families of lawyers killed in Kovid. The court told the lawyer who filed the petition that your life is not more valuable than the lives of others. So we can’t treat you differently. SC also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the lawyer.

This petition was filed in the SC by advocate Pradeep Kumar Yadav. Yadav had said in the petition that a compensation of Rs 50 lakh should be given to the families of those lawyers below 60 years of age, who lost their lives due to corona infection or any other reason. The petition was heard by a bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice BV Nagarathna.
