Addressing a press conference, Thackeray also asked why the Election Commission removed the Shiv Sena’s name and its ‘bow and arrow’ symbol, while the rival Eknath Shinde faction is yet to use it.

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena faction chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said the Supreme Court’s decision on disqualification of party’s rebel MLAs should come first and then Election Commission on who is the parent party.

Addressing a press conference, Thackeray also asked why the Election Commission removed the Shiv Sena’s name and its ‘bow and arrow’ symbol, while the rival Eknath Shinde faction is yet to use it.

Uddhav said, “The decision on disqualification should come first and then the Election Commission (which faction Shiv Sena belongs to) should decide. 14.

The Shiv Sena was split last June after a rebellion led by Shinde, with his faction and the faction led by Uddhav Thackeray trying to claim the party’s name and its symbol.
