Indian shooter Saurabh Choudhary opened the country’s account of the year’s first ISSF World Cup here on Tuesday with a gold medal in the men’s 10m air pistol event.

The Asian Games gold medalist scored 16 points to stay ahead of Germany’s Michael Schwald (6) in the gold medal competition.

The bronze in the event was won by Russia’s Artem Chernausov, whose country’s flag was removed due to its involvement in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

19-year-old Saurabh, an Olympian who also has a Youth Olympic gold medal to his name, was third in the men’s 10m air pistol qualification stage with a total of 584 points, finishing as one of the top eight shooters. Gone. ,
