The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Iran-aligned Houthi group in Yemen said it intercepted a ballistic missile headed towards Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich eastern region on Saturday, Saudi State TV reported.

“The offensive ballistic attack on the eastern sector has been stopped, foiled,” Saudi TV channel quoted the coalition as saying.

The coalition also said it intercepted and destroyed ballistic missiles headed for Jazan and Nazran in the southern part of the country.
