The former minister said that the four municipal bodies – Mango Notified Area Committee, Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, Jugsalai Municipality, Adityapur Notified Area Committee – have not taken appropriate action against the encroachers, who threaten life and property during the rainy season. .
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, Rai has suggested an inter-departmental meeting of all concerned officers for a permanent solution to the problem. In his suggestions, the MLA said that all flood prone areas should be identified and encroachment removed from such areas.
During his tenure as a minister in the previous BJP government, Rai had also raised issues and lent his voice for the conservation of rivers.
He further added that the bridges at Sonari, Kandanabera and Adityapur also play an important role in this. Flooding surrounding area.
