“As a first step, the entry of private vehicles into the park was restricted except on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Incidentally, the first day of the new year was Saturday and there was a huge rush of tourists,” a forest official said.
Wildlife believes that the forest department should find a solution soon as vehicles pass through the habitat of the five tigers. Presently the movement of big cats including ST-7, ST-8, ST-12, ST-13 and ST-14 is recorded in this area. Dinesh Verma Durani, founder and general secretary of Sariska Tiger Foundation Said, “We request the Forest Department to resolve the long pending issue. Tiger Population Sariska is increasing and disturbance in their habitat will adversely affect the sighting of tigers in Sariska National Park since it has improved. With a total of 23 tigers, not only has the influx of tourists increased, but many tour operators who Sariska was removed from the map after it was lost. All its tigers are now promoting it.
