“It seems both committed suicide on Tuesday night. Their bodies were hanging from a nylon rope tied to a wooden frame in the ceiling. Roopa has written in the suicide note that on several occasions she tried hard to persuade Sonu to stay away from such activities, but failed. Roopa has also mentioned in the note that her father is innocent and he always wanted to educate and see his children as officers,” Marhaura SDPO Indrajit Baitha said.
“He has also mentioned that Sonu changed his behavior only after he eloped with a girl, for which he also faced a case of kidnapping. She also wrote that all her acts tarnished the reputation of the family in the society,” he said.
Sources said that Chandeshwar handed over all the goods to the police. He said that Chandeshwar’s arrest could demoralize the mother-daughter duo after which they committed suicide.
Baitha said that the bike used by Sonu in the crime is registered in the name of his mother. He said that none of his relatives have come forward after being informed by the police to claim the bodies or even give statements. “The police will register a case of unnatural death and perform the last rites of the bodies,” he said.
Meanwhile, ADG (HQ) Jitendra Singh Gangwar said on Wednesday Ashu Rai Chandeshwar was arrested along with.
