In an interview, Sara Ali Khan spoke about her grandma Sharmila Tagore and dealing with online trolling and how she manages to find a silver lining in it.

Sara Ali Khan recently gushed about her grandmother Sharmila Tagore, saying that she is “the voice of modernity” and mentioned that she offers “good advice when it comes to boys.” In an interview with Filmfare, Sara also discussed dealing with online trolling and how she manages to find a silver lining in it.

Talking about Sharmila Tagore, she said, “My grandmother is my only living grandparent. She is the voice of reason for all of us. And I think that when things get hard, which they did in my life in 2020, a period of time that was not very good for me, my daddy was there for me, all guns blazing. And she’s there for my mom and brother. Of course, she’s there for my father as well. She connects me to my traditional roots. She is also the voice of modernity. She also gives me good advice when it comes to boys, films, and social life. She’s a champion.”

Sara also opened up about social media and trolling and said that it needs a strong sense of self because people will try to drag others down. “She said, “I think you have to have an inner conviction because everybody is going to try to drag you down, especially if you give them the opportunity to. First, just be grateful. Practising gratitude helps because it could always be worse than it is…it’s always about the way you look at things. Even if I’m being trolled, for instance, I tell myself that at least they’re talking about me. Imagine being irrelevant. For an actor, that’s death. So always look at it in such a way that you can tell yourself it could have been worse.”

Sara, during an event in Delhi, had also talked about Amrita Singh and Sharmila Tagore’s relationship. “My mom doesn’t have parents, but if anything were to happen to me or Ibrahim, I know that she wouldn’t be alone because Badi Amma will be there, and that’s everything,” she said as quoted by the Times of India.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan is set to share the screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time in an upcoming action comedy film. This fresh pairing has generated a lot of buzz. The film will be produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment.
