Sankashti Chaturthi, celebrated as an auspicious day among Hindus, falls in every month Krishna Paksha Chaturthi Tithi. The Chaturdashi Tithi in the Krishna Paksha (decreasing phase of the Moon) of Jyeshtha/Ashadha month is known as Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi. The devotees of Lord Ganesha observe a day’s fast on this occasion and break the fast after sighting the moon. This year Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on 27th June. This year Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi will be celebrated on 27th June in the month of Ashadha. Chaturthi Tithi will start on 27th June at 03:54 PM and will end on 28th June at 02:16 PM. Moonrise will happen at 10.03 pm. Troubled day.

Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi: Vrat Vidhi

On the day of fasting, devotees wake up early and take a bath to worship Lord Ganesha. They keep fast for the whole day and consume only fruits, milk or any dishes during the fast. It is considered auspicious to help the poor and feed the needy. Some people also donate clothes and food. Consumption of rice, wheat and pulses is strictly prohibited during the fast. Later in the evening, devotees meditate (meditate) and pray to Lord Ganesha with folded hands.

Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi is quite significant as it is believed that Lord Ganesha bestows his presence on earth for all his devotees on this day. According to traditional beliefs, this was the day when Lord Ganesha was declared the supreme deity by Lord Shiva. It is also said that observing Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi Vrat removes all problems from one’s life and also one gets rid of all faults and sins.
