Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor has opened up about his relationship with his brothers Anil Kapoor and Boney Kapoor.

Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor has got candid about his equations with his brothers, actor Anil Kapoor and producer Boney Kapoor. The actor said that even though Anil is more successful actor than him, it doesn’t bother him because he feels more content with his life.

In a conversation with Shivani Pau, Sanjay talks about how his relationship with his brothers doesn’t get affected by the constant comparisons they are often subjected to.

Sanjay Kapoor said, “We lived together, and we were living in a two-bedroom hall when we started off. We are a very close-knit family. Obviously, then you have your own children, everything. There are times when I don’t meet Anil or Boney maybe for a month or month and a half also. But we respect each other, we love each other, and we are intelligent enough to know, okay, this is part of movie making.”

Sanjay also spoke about the competition among the three brothers. He said, “Today, I have nieces, nephews, they are going through their highs, they’re going through lows, but our relation is not changing according to the Friday of the movie releases of Arjun or Sonam or Janhvi or whoever.”

Sanjay continued, “I’m not saying there’s no competition. I think it’s a person-to-person thing. I think even though Anil is more successful than me, I always feel that I am happier and more content than him, for whatever reason. I am always saying God is kind. Even if I’ve achieved less than him, I just feel I’m happier. I’m always in a better mood. I’m not saying he’s sad or anything, but I don’t know how to put it. But I feel I’m more content than him.”

Despite coming from a well-known film family, Sanjay Kapoor faced many challenges in his career. He was launched into the industry by his brother, producer Boney Kapoor, with a lead role in Prem (1995). While he went on to star in some big projects, his career didn’t take off as expected, and he mainly got offered smaller roles. In the same podcast, Sanjay also talked about his career journey, recalling how his brother Boney didn’t offer him roles during his tough times.

“My brother (Boney) didn’t cast me when I was going through the (tough) phase. When he made No Entry, he could have taken me instead of Fardeen Khan; but he didn’t. There already was Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan in its cast, so he could have sold the picture anyway. The picture would have done well anyway even if he took me. Things would have still happened the way it happened and No Entry would have been a blockbuster,” he said.
