Sanjay Dutt has reportedly left Welcome To The Jungle due to date issues after script changes.
The highly anticipated third instalment of the beloved Welcome franchise, Welcome to the Jungle, is all prepared to bring laughter and joy to its audience. However, as per the latest report, Sanjay Dutt has backed out of the film as his dates were clashing with the schedule.
Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Sanjay Dutt has cited date issues for his exit. He has conveyed all the issues to his dear friend Akshay, who took the points into account and holds no bad blood. Sanjay Dutt felt that the Welcome To The Jungle shoot was happening in an unplanned way, with too many changes in the script, disturbing his diary of the shoot, and hence has parted ways.”
As per the report, Sanjay has already shot for 15 days and makers are now confused about whether they should reshoot his scenes or integrate his disappearance into the story. “Sanjay Dutt has shot for some funny portions of Welcome To The Jungle in the first schedule and the makers are tempted to resume it and credit Sanjay Dutt for a guest appearance,” the source further added. However, there is no confirmation on the same from Sanjay or Welcome 3’s team yet.
With Sanjay out of the picture, the cast now includes Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde, with the recent additions of Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.
When the first glimpse of the film was unveiled last year, it generated quite a buzz due to its stellar star cast and distinction from the two previous films. Shreyas Talpade, who will feature in the film in a prominent role, opened up about its plot during an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha.
He told us, “It’s a pretty interesting and funny story about these guys all coming together and pulling off a kind of stunt. The brief was very clear, let’s have some madness on set and let’s make sure we entertain people. I’m looking forward to the next big schedule we’ll have in March. There are some crazy scenes with me and Tusshar together. That was one of the USPs, not only me and Tusshar but also Arshad and Sanju sir are coming together.”
Presented by Base Industries Group, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film is set for a grand theatrical release during the Christmas week on 20th December 2024.
