New Delhi: Samsung has started rolling out its latest OS update, One UI 4, for the premium Galaxy S21 lineup based on Android 12. Along with offering more customization and updated privacy settings, One UI 4 also brings a new privacy dashboard. This comes after weeks of testing the Android 12 update by Samsung for its custom OS.

As always, the rollout will take a few weeks to reach all Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra users globally. In addition, Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3 that will ‘let users enjoy better health features and new watch faces’.

“We are committed to providing everyone with the best mobile experience possible,” Janghyun Yun, executive vice president and head of the software platform team in Samsung Electronics’ mobile communications business, said in a statement.

“One UI 4 delivers on that promise, equipping Galaxy smartphone users with the latest customization and privacy features. But we will not stop here. Soon, other smartphone and tablet users will also be able to take advantage of this software update, leading to a more seamless experience across our ecosystem.”

One UI 4 Privacy Features

With One UI 4, Samsung intends to bring the latest privacy and security features, so that users can choose exactly what they want to share or keep private. One UI 4 will alert you when an app is trying to access your camera or microphone, and brings up a new privacy dashboard that brings all your settings and controls into one convenient place.

One UI 4 Customization

One UI 4 will enable you to create a customized mobile experience to meet your unique needs and express your personality. There will be tons of new color palettes to change the look and feel of everything from the home screen to icons, menus, buttons and backgrounds. The revamped widgets with deep customization will let you put your personal stamp on your experience.

The update brings a wide variety of emoji features, GIFs and stickers straight from the keyboard.

Meanwhile, the South Korean smartphone major has rolled out updates to last year’s Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 FE, Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 Plus, Galaxy S20 FE, Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3. compatibility has also been confirmed.
