New Delhi: The next iteration in Samsung’s Fan Edition (FE) series – the Galaxy S21 FE has been priced ahead of its availability in India. According to the leak of a tipster, the price of Galaxy S21 FE can be between Rs 48,000 and Rs 49,000. However, there has been no confirmation by Samsung on the India pricing of the Galaxy S21 FE.
Potential buyers can pre-reserve the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G by paying a token amount of Rs 999 on the Samsung Shop app. The pre-bookings will start from January 5 and will go on till January 10, while the actual sale of the device will start from January 11. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21 FE just ahead of CES 2022 after a series of leaks and rumours. The Galaxy S21 FE is essentially a watered-down flagship that has been launched globally. It is likely that the South Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy S21 FE in India, which will compete with the upcoming OnePlus 9RT, which is slated to be unveiled in India on January 14.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G follows the legacy of the flagship Galaxy S21 range. Samsung has launched the handset in four new color options – Olive, Lavender, White and Graphite – all of which include a stylish haze finish. The S21 FE 5G sports a sleek 7.9mm-thick body. The phone also packs an in-display (optical) fingerprint sensor, similar to what we’ve seen on the previous-gen Galaxy S20 FE.
The company had earlier said that starting January 11, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be available online through Samsung.com, carriers and retailers and the availability of the device will vary by market.
The Galaxy S21 FE is available in three storage variants: 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB at a starting price of $699 (approximately Rs 52,031).
Galaxy S21 FE 5G Specifications and Features
In terms of display, the Galaxy S21 FE sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate in gaming mode. There is also Eye Comfort Shield with AI-based blue light control. Camera specs include a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture of F2.2, a 12MP wide camera with Dual Pixel AF, an aperture of F1.8, an 8MP telephoto camera with 30x space zoom, and an aperture of F2.4 . For selfies, there is a 32MP front camera with F2.2 aperture.
Depending on the region, the processor could be the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 or the Samsung-owned Exynos 2100.
Talking about storage, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G has up to 256GB of internal memory. Connectivity options are 5G, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include gyro, magnetometer, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer and a proximity sensor.
