Akshay Kumar And Manushi Chhillar’s historical drama ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ did well at the box office in its first weekend. But it seems the magic is fading as the film has seen a huge drop in 4 days. After a slow opening on its opening day, with an opening of Rs 10.70 crore, business picked up on Saturday and Sunday and Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi saw two regional releases, Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Adivasi Shesha’s Major, despite competition at the box office. The directorial managed to score well on the first weekend. The first Monday numbers are between Rs 5 crore and Rs 5.15 crore.

According to Box Office India, “Samrat Prithviraj has seen a drop in the collections on Day 4 as it has collected around 5 Crore net which is more than 50% from the first day. It has better hold in the circuit where it was performing better. Weekends but other places are witnessing a fall in the range of 55-60%. The circuits that contributed more to the collection of Emperor Prithviraj were the Hindi belt, in which Maharashtra showed a slightly overwhelming response. BOI said, “It will take the film to around 44 crore nett in five days and the week around 56 crore, which is not really enough and the hold should be better on Monday and towards a decline of 30%.”

About Akshay Kumar’s Emperor Prithviraj

Directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film is Yash Raj Films’ first historical work based on the glorious life of the mighty, brave king Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay Kumar plays the legendary warrior king who bravely fought to defend India’s independence from the ruthless invader Muhammad of Ghor in this larger-than-life cinematic spectacle. On the other hand, Manushi Chhillar is making her much-awaited debut this year as Kumar’s on-screen darling Sanyogita.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles. Samrat Prithviraj, released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 3.
