Samantha-Shah Rukh Khan’s collaboration with Atlee failed due to actress’ baby plans?

Ever since Samantha announced her separation from Naga Chaitanya after almost four years of marriage, speculations have been rife as to why the celebrity couple’s marriage broke up. Some reports suggested that Samantha doing bold scenes in films was unacceptable to the Akkineni family, while others suggested that the former couple argued over the issue of having children.

Now, a new report has suggested that Samantha was earlier approached by director Atlee for an action film starring Shah Rukh Khan, tentatively titled Lion. However, she turned it down as she was planning a child with Naga Chaitanya. After this the role went to Nayantara, who has also started shooting for the film.

If reports are to be believed, Samantha was the first choice for Shah Rukh and Atlee’s film. The actress has a great rapport with Atlee and has worked with him in Theri and Mersal. Reportedly, Samantha turned down the offer as she was planning to have a child with Naga Chaitanya.

Neither Samantha nor the makers of Lion have issued any statement regarding this. The role later went to Nayanthara, who is currently shooting for the film in Mumbai.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya separated after tying the knot in October 2017. They made a public announcement about their divorce on 2 October.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh too has delayed the shooting of Atlee’s film as a drug bust has taken place on a cruise ship belonging to his son Aryan. It is being told that Shahrukh has a double role in the film. The actor completed the Pune schedule last month and also shot some action sequences in Mumbai’s Film City.
