source near Bollywood Hungama shared that both Samantha and Anushka are meeting regularly to discuss it and the film will have Samantha in the lead role. The venture in question will be a strong female-centric project featuring Samantha as the central protagonist.
The source further added, “The yet-to-be-titled venture will be backed by Anushka’s brother Karnesh Sharma. However, it is still unclear whether the project will be a proper feature film or a web series. More details about the project have so far been kept secret.
Samantha and Anushka share a great bond. Earlier this month, the two sent warm birthday wishes to each other. On the work front, Anushka Sharma will soon be seen in Chakda Express. He has completed shooting for it. The film is a biopic on the life of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. The film marks his return to film after almost 4 years. He was last seen opposite Zero Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
While Samantha was last seen in Shakuntalam. Currently she is working with Varun Dhawan Amazon Prime Video series Citadel. She also has a project named Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda. The film is scheduled to release on 1 September.
