Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared her first social media post just hours after her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, got engaged to actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The post was not a direct comment on the engagement but instead featured an article celebrating the Indian hockey team’s remarkable achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Indian team claimed a bronze medal after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Spain on Friday. Earlier in the day, Samantha had also shared an Instagram story about wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s retirement announcement, accompanied by a broken heart emoji.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, who had been the subject of dating rumours for over a year, got engaged on Thursday morning in a private ceremony at Chaitanya’s house. The couple exchanged rings in the presence of close family members. Shortly after their engagement, Naga Chaitanya’s father, superstar Nagarjuna, took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to officially announce the news and share the first photos of the newly engaged couple.

Rumours of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita’s relationship had been swirling since May of the previous year when they were first spotted together in Hyderabad. At the time, Sobhita was promoting her film Major and reportedly celebrated her birthday with Chaitanya and friends. The couple’s relationship continued to garner attention, especially after a viral photo from their European holiday in June showed them enjoying a wine-tasting session together, adding fuel to the speculations.
