Netizens pulled out an old video which highlighted the rivalry between John Abraham and Salman Khan-Katina Kaif.
The Salman Khan and John Abraham feud might be one of the lesser talked about topics in tinsel town, but netizens have a way of bringing it up from time to time. Keeping up with that trajectory, a Reddit user found an old video Salman Khan remembering the time when Katrina Kaif She claimed that John Abraham had replaced her from a film they were both working on and she was only a part of the project because Salman Khan advised her to follow it. Not only this, Salman Khan also revealed that it was because of him and Katrina Kaif that John Abraham got a big break.
In a video shared on a popular Bollywood Reddit sub, Salman Khan who appeared in Aap Ki Adalat shared, “I remember the scene of Katrina doing the film for which she was later replaced by Tara Sharma and Katrina was crying ‘My whole career Destroyed’. Teen doon tak woh jheelna pada (I had to bear it for three days). Later, I assured her that she would be one of India’s biggest stars. Must be laughing’.
For the unversed, the film was Anurag Basu’s 2003 supernatural fantasy romantic thriller Saaya, with rumors of John Abraham replacing Katrina Kaif with Tara Sharma. After that incident, when Katrina Kaif got a chance to work with John Abraham in New York, she had a chance to drop the actor from the project but Salman Khan advised her not to do so.
He can be heard saying in the viral clip,
“Then this film came, she said ‘John is in the film’. I said that? It could be anyone in the film. You are doing the film for the script and the director, whoever the co-star is. She said, ‘ No, but he fired me from that film. I said, ‘Come on man be generous. Today you are in a position that you can do it (that you can do it)… They can be changed anytime but this is not the right thing to do. She understood that (And) worked with John. The film became a big hit. John Abraham got a big hit because of me and Katrina Dono’s badness.”
The video also included John Abraham’s reaction to it when he appeared on Rajat Sharma’s show. The actor had said that though he knew there was some problem between him and Salman Khan, he could not pinpoint the exact reason. He also expressed that at that time, he was a newcomer and had no power to advise producers or directors to remove anyone from a project. John Abraham also thanked Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif when Rajat Sharma suggested that it was because of the two actors that he was a part of a big hit film.
