Salman Khan is in Kolkata to perform at a concert to be held at the East Bengal Club Ground on Saturday.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Saturday, ahead of his sangeet ceremony at the East Bengal Club ground in the evening. The meeting took place at Banerjee’s Kalighat residence. This visit to Kolkata comes amid threat to Salman’s security. Fans are well aware that the Bollywood superstar has received death threats this year, as a result of which security has been tightened.
As soon as he got down from his car, Salman waved to media photographers outside Banerjee’s house. He was accompanied by his bodyguard Shera. The CM gave a warm welcome to the actor. Together they also posed for the photographers. Salman was wearing a half sleeve shirt and jeans to meet the Chief Minister.
Salman Khan landed at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Friday evening for his Da-Bang tour. He was accompanied by Jacqueline Fernandez, Prabhu Deva and Aayush Sharma. Salman’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan co-star Pooja Hegde is also expected to attend the concert.
As reported by ABP News, the organizers had earlier said that they were taking assistance from the West Bengal government and top police officials to ensure the safety of the artistes. While he did not reveal specific details about the measures being taken, he assured fans that everything will be taken care of properly.
Responding to death threats at Aap Ki Adalat recently, the Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan star acknowledged the need for security measures, saying that “security is better than insecurity.” However, he also expressed his disappointment at the inconvenience caused to his fans. and others on the road because of the presence of security personnel.
On the work front, Salman Khan will next be seen in Tiger 3 opposite Katrina Kaif. The action thriller is the third installment of the Tiger franchise.
