Salasar Techno Engineering’s new galvanizing plant will start functioning early next year: MD.

Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd on Wednesday said its new galvanizing plant, into which it plans to pump Rs 50 crore this year, will start functioning by the end of March or April next year.

Shashank Agarwal, managing director, Salasar Techno Engineering, said, “The new galvanic plant will be operational by the end of March or April next year, with effect from next financial year.”

The plant, which will cost around Rs 50 crore, will be funded through bank loans as well as internal sources of the company.

“So, partly, it is going to come from our own internal sources and partly, (we) have tied up with banks. So, we are taking some term loans from banks, which are already in place,” Agarwal said. Approval has been received.”

The company has three galvanizing plants. However, there is a limit to the size of the plants, with a maximum of 1,600 mm of structure that can be galvanised, Salasar Techno Engineering said in a statement.

“Nowadays, the use of monopoles is increasing in the transmission segment as well as in other sectors. In these areas, monopoles of greater width are required at the bottom, so as to increase the height and strength of the tower,” the company said.

At present, the company cannot manufacture these monopoles due to the limited width of its existing galvanizing plants.

The galvanization capacity of this facility will be 96,000 tonnes per annum.

With this new plant, the company said it would be able to manufacture monopoles up to 3,000 millimeters (mm) in diameter.

In addition, the company’s galvanization capacity will increase to two lakh tonnes per annum, which will be sufficient for growth in the next three-four years.

“We will make about 8,000 tonnes per month from this plant alone. And, it will serve a dual purpose – increased efficiency due to a larger production, and second, lower consumption due to a better designed plant, said Agarwal in a reply to Curiosity. .
