Saif Ali Khan is reportedly set to make his comeback in the ‘Race’ franchise.

Created by the dynamic duo Abbas-Mustan, the franchise’s first two installments became instant hits. However, after the third film fell short of expectations, fans have been clamoring for a reboot. Now, it seems their wishes are about to come true. As per a PinkVilla report, producer Ramesh Taurani is gearing up to reboot the ‘Race’ franchise, with none other than Saif Ali Khan set to return in ‘Race 4’.
According to sources close to the project, Saif Ali Khan has been in discussions with Ramesh Taurani for quite some time, and the two have finally agreed to bring the franchise back to life with ‘Race 4’. “Saif Ali Khan has been discussing Race 4 with Ramesh Taurani for a while now and the duo has finally come to the agreement of rebooting the franchise with Race 4. The actor has agreed in principle and is excited to get into the world of Race again. Ramesh Taurani is aiming to take the film on floors in the first quarter of 2025,” the source revealed.
While the core plot of ‘Race 4’ has been locked, the screenplay is still being fine-tuned. In addition to Saif Ali Khan, the film will feature a star-studded ensemble cast, with the makers already in talks with several established filmmakers to bring a fresh, dynamic perspective to the reboot. The title may even reflect this new direction, potentially being called ‘Race Reboot’.
“While the basic plot of Race 4 is locked, the team is presently working on the screenplay. Apart from Saif Ali Khan, a big ensemble will come on board and the casting is also underway. The makers are also looking to reboot it by getting in a fresh and credible voice to direct the film,” the source added.
Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Devara Part 1 with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. On his birthday, the makers have shared the first look of his character Bhaira. Saif is looking fierce as he is out for a hunt. The film is releasing on September 27 and also stars Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. Taking to their X handle, Devara makers shared a clip and wrote, “His Presence is a Celebration of Havoc. The HUNT will be more brutal than ever. #Devara #DevaraOnSep27th”. The video open with Saif Ali Khan’s fight scene. He is seen running in the forest and believed to be very sharp.
Additionally, Saif Ali Khan is preparing to shoot for Priyadarshan’s upcoming thriller, where he will face off against Bobby Deol, excitement for ‘Race 4’ continues to build.
