Saif Ali Khan opened up about becoming a part of Devara and admitted that he was nervous on the first day of the film’s shoot. Devara marks Saif’s first Telugu film. The actor plays the role of Bhaira. During a chat with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Jr NTR and Koratala Siva revealed that Omkara did play a role in roping him into the film. Saif added that he also agreed to do the film because of Siva’s narration. However, he was skeptical about telling dialogues in Telugu.

After Siva convinced him, Saif agreed to do the film. But, on the first day of the shoot, Saif began panicking. “On the first day, I had to say these lines to a lady that was playing her part and I was cued some dialogues and I said I’ll try and get it. Sweat started running down my back and I felt a thrill that I hadn’t felt for a long time. It was like a new thing for me and I was panicking. I thought I won’t do it properly,” he said.

As time passed by and Saif did more scenes, he got into the groove. He also went on to say dialogues that were two pages long. “I did one or two lines and they were okay in the beginning. They said you won’t have to speak much. But after a few days, he got impressed with how I was doing and I got used to the language and it’s not that difficult also. After that, he said do a page and suddenly the dialogues started getting longer and I said he promised me it’d be one or two lines, then assistant would come and say, ‘Sir dialogue,’ and I’d say okay what and he’d go on and on. I said that’s two pages and Siva sir said you can do it now and it’s true, we did it,” he shared.

If the trailer is to go by, Jr NTR and Saif are on logger heads. They are seen engaging in numerous action scenes. Besides Jr NTR and Saif, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor. Devara is set to release on September 27.
