Sai Pallavi, Naga Chaitanya-starrer ‘Love Story’ to release on October 22 on Aha

Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya-starrer Telugu romantic drama ‘Love Story’ has almost ended its theatrical run. Sekhar Kammula’s directorial received encouraging reviews and did well at the box office. Love Story released in theaters on September 24 and earned more than Rs 32 crore in two weeks. Considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cinemas running at limited capacity, the film’s box office performance can be considered satisfactory.

After the theatres, now the makers of Love Story have revealed the OTT release date of the film. Video streaming platform Aha, which had secured the post-theatrical digital rights of the film, will make the film available on its portal from October 22. The makers of Love Story reserved four weeks for the film’s exclusive theatrical run before putting it up for OTT release.

Love Story is the second Telugu film after Crack to release on Aha after theaters. Krack, featuring Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan, was released in theaters on January 9 this year and collected around Rs 70 crore. The action thriller directed by Gopinchand Malineni received positive reviews from critics for the performance and writing.

After four weeks of theatrical run, Crack aired on Aha on February 6. In March the following month, Star Maa, which had bought the satellite rights, premiered it on TV. Star Maa has also bought the TV rights of Love Story and it is likely to premiere at the end of next month.

Love Story was released in over 1000 screens across the world and earned a whopping Rs 7 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the first day. The film is an intense love story with a socially relevant message. The film received largely positive reviews, with particular praise for the performances of Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya.
