Saffron flags in JNU, police removed: Hindu Sena put up posters of saffron JNU, ABVP had a dispute with Leftists on Ram Navami

Saffron flags and saffron JNU posters were found outside the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in Delhi on Friday morning. As soon as the information was received, the police rushed to get the flags removed. Police say that they are looking for those who put the flags.

These flags and posters were put up by the Hindu Sena on the road outside JNU and near the main gate. The organization’s name is also written on the poster with saffron JNU. Violence broke out between students of the Left student organization and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on the day of Ram Navami on Sunday. Many students were injured in this. It is believed that in response to this violence, posters and flags have been put up outside JNU.

Saffron being insulted in JNU: Yadav
Hindu Sena Vice President Surjit Yadav has said that saffron is being insulted continuously by the opponents in JNU. He warned that these people should improve, do not try to make saffron your own. We respect everyone, respect every religion and idea, but the way saffron color is being insulted, Hindu army will not tolerate it.

Will take action against those who disturb the atmosphere: DSP
South-West Delhi DSP said that this morning it has been learned that some flags and banners have been put up on the road and adjoining areas near JNU. These were immediately removed in view of the recent events. Appropriate legal action is being taken.

Fearing that the atmosphere would deteriorate, the police immediately reached and got the flags removed.

Violence took place on Ramnavami on becoming non-veg
Violence broke out over non-veg food being served at JNU’s Kaveri Hostel on Ram Navami on Sunday. Left wing students had alleged that ABVP members stopped the mess staff from serving non-veg and attacked the students. ABVP members had alleged that left wing students had tried to stop the Ram Navami puja. An FIR has been lodged by JNUSU, SFI and Democratic Students Federation against students affiliated to ABVP.

On the day of Ram Navami, there was a dispute between the Left and the pro-ABVP students, after that these flags were raised.

Kejriwal expressed concern
Regarding the incident, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said – if there will be clashes and hooliganism in schools and colleges, then the nation will never progress. Children come here to study and only education should take place in these places. The country will progress only if there is education.
