Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patriarch Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to PGIMER here on Monday evening after he complained of gastric problems, hospital sources said. The 94-year-old former Chief Minister of Punjab has been admitted to the Advanced Cardiac Center of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical. education and was undergoing research (PGIMER) and a medical test, he said.
Sources said that he had complained of some gastric issues and had an incident of vomiting, but his condition is stable. Earlier this year, Badal had contracted Covid-19. In February, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali for a health check-up for Kovid. He also had a cardiac and pulmonary checkup.
Earlier, Badal was discharged on January 24 from a hospital in Ludhiana, where he was admitted after testing positive for Covid-19. The SAD custodian was earlier advised by doctors to opt for a bi-weekly or tri-weekly precautionary check-up, especially after testing for COVID-19.
