There may be an alliance between Akali Dal and BJP again. There is a possibility of this before the Lok Sabha elections. This planning is being done to stop the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab. Although both the parties are not saying anything openly. Senior Akali Dal leader Balwinder Singh Bhundar has definitely indicated this. He said that it is definitely a possibility but cannot say for sure. Punjab has 13 Lok Sabha seats, so the Akali Dal, which is out of power for the second time in a row, has also faced a crisis of retaining the party cadre.

Signs from the election, if we had lived together, we would have won 9 seats
This time Akali Dal lost badly in Punjab elections. He could win only 3 seats. BJP also won 2 seats. However, if we look at the figures of votes in terms of defeat and victory, then there were 9 seats in which this alliance could win. There the BJP and Akali candidate together had more votes than the winner. These include the seats of Balachaur, Dera Baba Nanak, Dera Bassi, Garhshankar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar Cantt, Jalandhar Central, Ludhiana Central and Sujanpur. Of these, 4 were won by Congress and 5 by AAP.

Akali Dal’s condition deteriorated due to the defeat of Badal Family
The condition of Akali Dal, the regional party of Punjab, has deteriorated this time. He was out of power for the second consecutive term. At the same time, the most important thing was the defeat of the Badal family. 5-time CM Parkash Singh Badal lost from his stronghold Lambi. Sukhbir Badal also lost from Jalalabad. Bikram Majithia lost from Amritsar East. Many Akali stalwarts were also defeated by the new candidates.

Alliance was broken on agricultural laws
The Akali Dal broke the alliance with the BJP over agricultural laws. First Sukhbir Badal’s MP wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the central government. After this Sukhbir broke the alliance. However, now agricultural laws have been withdrawn. The peasant movement has also ended. The Akali Dal needs the support of a bigger party, while the BJP needs shelter in Punjab to grow closer to the Sikhs. In such a situation, their closeness can increase.
