Sachin not only played the game of cricket but in his own way changed the game forever. In his career spanning over two decades, Sachin broke countless batting records and also became the first batsman to score a hundred in international cricket.

While Sachin ended his ODI career with 49 centuries, in the first five years of his career, he could never convert any starts into a century. On September 09, 1994, the Master Blaster registered his maiden ODI century and since then there has been no looking back.

Sachin started as a middle-order batsman for India and scored 2126 runs in 78 matches before scoring his maiden ODI century. But the morning of 9 September 1994 marked the beginning of a glorious chapter in international cricket. Sachin scored 110 off 130 balls and not only registered his maiden ODI century, but also helped his team defeat the mighty Aussies.

Winning the toss, India elected to bat first against Australia in the third match of the tri-series, which also includes hosts Sri Lanka. Sachin came to bat with Manoj Prabhakar and the duo gave the team a steady start and shared an 87 for the first wicket.

Prabhakar got out for 20 and wickets started falling rapidly. Some batsmen got a good start and only Vinod Kambli managed to cross the 40-run mark. However, on one side of the crease, Tendulkar stood like a strong pillar and took the team to a total of 246/8.

Taking to the Australian bowling lineup, Sachin also completed his century and played some great shorts in all parts of the field.

In reply, Australia were reduced to 215 and India won the match by 31 runs.
