Russia’s defense ministry said Tuesday it deployed a fighter jet to prevent two US strategic bombers flying over the Baltic Sea from crossing the Russian border.
“The crew of the Russian fighter identified aerial targets classified as two US Air Force B-1B strategic bombers…” it said.
It added that the bombers did not cross the Russian border and that the Russian fighter jets later returned to their home airspace.
