Russia said no success in peace talks, welcomes written demands of Ukraine

Russia on Wednesday downplayed hopes of a breakthrough in peace with Ukraine, a day after delegations from both sides held talks on the ongoing offensive.

Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia “did not see anything promising or that seemed like a breakthrough” during the Istanbul talks.

Welcoming Ukraine’s proposal to list demands, Peskov said, “Moscow considers it positive that Kyiv has begun to outline its demands in writing. There is still much work to do before a deal is possible.” “
