Rupee: Rupee jumps 34 paise to close at 74.66 against US dollar – Times of India

Mumbai: Continuing its lead for the ninth consecutive trading session, Rupee Closes 34 paise higher at 74.66 (provisional) against US Dollar Positive home equity tracking on Tuesday amid rising appetite for high-risk assets. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the greenback’s strength against a basket of six currencies, fell 0.08 per cent to 96.02.
Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures rose 0.57 per cent to $79.05 a barrel.
Foreign institutional investors remained net sellers in the capital market on Monday as they sold shares worth Rs 1,038.25 crore, according to stock exchange data.
