At the recent screening of RRR with the Directors Guild of America, SS Rajamouli had said that his magnum opus is ‘not a Bollywood film’.

After the huge critical and commercial success of RRR worldwide, filmmaker SS Rajamouli has opened up about his plans to direct a Hollywood film. Recently, RRR won the Critics’ Choice Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category. The film also won the Best Lyrics award for Naatu Naatu at the awards held in Los Angeles on Monday. The foot-tapping hit Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR was also declared the Best Song (Motion Picture) at the 80th Golden Globes.

During several events and award functions in the US, Rajamouli also met iconic Hollywood filmmakers James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. This fueled speculation about him potentially directing a film in Hollywood. The director of Baahubali has now reacted on the same.

“Back in India, I am the dictator. Nobody tells me how to make a film. Probably my first step would be to collaborate with someone.” Entertainment weekly. “I think making a film in Hollywood is the dream of every filmmaker around the world, I am no different. I am open to experiment,” said Rajamouli.

Rajamouli’s RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, tells the story of a fearless warrior who comes face to face with a steely cop serving the British Army in an epic saga set in pre-independence India.

Naatu Naatu has also been selected for the 95th Academy Awards in the Original Song category, and Ram Charan has said that if the film wins an Oscar, he and Jr. NTR will probably dance on stage as well. The Telugu track Naatu Naatu is composed by veteran music director MM Keeravani and sung by Kaal Bhairav ​​and Rahul Sipligunj.
