Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spotted testing again, details inside!

New Delhi: Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is all set to launch its next product in India, the Himalayan 450. This bike has been spotted several times under cover during testing, but recently clear pictures of its production model have been captured on camera. These new spy pictures have surfaced from Austria, where the bike is in its final stages of testing.

features:
The recently spotted testing model has been seen in black color with green accents. It has been seen with accessories like auxiliary lights, pannier mounts with side panniers and a top box. It gets a bulb-shaped fuel tank, which appears bigger than the current Himalayan model. Additionally, it could come equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone connectivity, wire-spoke wheels with dual-purpose tubeless tyres, dual-channel ABS, ride modes and ride-by-wire.

design:
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 could get several segment-first features including a three-in-one taillamp setup. It gets two LED flashers that act as turn signals, indicators and brake lights, as seen on the BMW S 1000 RR. The bike could also be the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to come with all-LED lighting system and USD front forks.

Powertrain:
Apart from these features, the Himalayan 450 will be the first model from Royal Enfield to be powered by a new 450cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is expected to generate around 35bhp-40bhp power and 40Nm torque.

Competition:
This bike will compete with the KTM 390 Duke, which is equipped with a 373.27cc engine producing 42.9PS power. The ex-showroom price of KTM 390 Duke is Rs 2.97 lakh.
