Vadodara: Two groups belonging to different communities came at loggerheads and even pelted stones at each other over an argument regarding a dead pig lying in a locality in Godhra town of Panchmahal district on Friday.
Godhra sub-divisional police office C C Khatana said that since the pig carcass had been lying in the area some youths asked others to dispose it. “The persons for the other group gave a reply to this comment and this snowballed into a row,” he said. According to Khatana, the two sides used to stay together in the locality and knew each other well. The argument, however, turned bitter and the groups were involved in a fight and stones were also pelted. Two persons were injured in the incident.
Khatana said that after the incident, none of the sides wanted to register an offence and had settled the matter amongst themselves. The police have, however, taken an application regarding the incident and called those involved in it at the police station on Saturday.
