Ross Taylor’s autobiography ‘Black and White’ to release on August 11

One of the most popular New Zealand cricketers, Ross Taylor is all set to release his autobiography three months after he played his last international match. Taylor is one of the most successful cricketers from Kiwiland, whose international runs have crossed the 17,000 mark. Taylor, who made his debut in 2006, became a middle-order mainstay for the Blackcaps, especially after the departure of Stephen Fleming. He played his last international match on 4 April this year, which meant that his international career spanned over 16 years.

Now, he is all set to release his autobiography titled “Black and White”. He released this news on Twitter on Thursday. “It has been a wonderful time reflecting on my journey. I can’t wait to share my story ‘Black and White’ coming to New Zealand bookstores on August 11th.”

Visuals of the 38-year-old getting emotional in his last international match against the Netherlands had gone viral. It was the third and final ODI against the ally where he scored 14 off 16.

In what was an emotional final international for Ross Taylor, the New Zealand batsman failed to hold back tears during the national anthem before the match began and then later, when he came out to bat for the last time.

The Netherlands cricketers gave him a guard of honour. , It was his 450th match for New Zealand and he brought his three children – Mackenzie, Jonty and Adelaide – together for the national anthem.

Among the crowd was his wife Victoria and extended family as he last saw one of the finest batsmen of his era on the field.

After opener Martin Guptill was dismissed for 106, the crowd had to wait until the 39th over to see Taylor get out to bat – his 17th international century.

The 38-year-old delighted fans with a six and was dismissed after a slog-sweep attempt, but managed a top edge to be caught and bowled by Logan van Beek.

He returned to the dressing room amid a standing ovation and even stuck out his tongue, which is reminiscent of his trademark celebration.
