Since Bhowmik was the head of the Odisha region, we were looking for him. After the registration of the case, he had absconded to evade arrest.
The EOW said that they recently got clues about Bhowmik and sought the help of West Bengal Police to arrest him. After his arrest on Monday, he was produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Tamluk. The EOW brought him to Odisha on transit remand and produced him in a Balasore court on Tuesday.
The state government has already attached over Rs 83 crore in Rose Valley’s bank balance and immovable assets worth around Rs 11 crore. The CBI had on January 7, 2016 filed a chargesheet in a court here against Rose Valley Chairman Gautam Kundu, Managing Director Shibamay Dutta and two directors Ashok Kumar Saha and Ram Lal Goswami.
The company allegedly showed investors confidence by showing two photographs in which the firm had donated Rs 2 lakh and Rs 25 lakh to the company.
