Rohit Shetty revealed that during the pre-production phase of All The Best, Fardeen Khan approached him with a heartfelt request.
Director Rohit Shetty, currently celebrating the success of his latest release Singham Again, recently opened up about memorable moments from his earlier films. In an interview reflecting on his career, Rohit revisited the making of All The Best: Fun Begins (2009) and shared an emotional anecdote involving Fardeen Khan and his father, the legendary actor Feroz Khan.
Rohit revealed that during the pre-production phase of All The Best, Fardeen Khan approached him with a heartfelt request. Fardeen’s father, Feroz Khan, was gravely ill, and doctors had conveyed that his time was limited. Concerned about the impact his absence might have on the film’s schedule, Fardeen requested Rohit to replace him in the cast. The actor felt he might need to prioritise spending time with his father during those crucial days.
Rohit explained that it wasn’t an easy decision for him and producer Ajay Devgn. Instead of replacing Fardeen, they decided to stand by him, even if it meant potential delays. “Feroz Khan was very ill, and the doctors had given up hope. Fardeen called us to inform us of the situation and asked us to replace him, but we decided to wait,” Rohit shared.
The shoot was initially planned in Goa, but by the time production started, it was monsoon season. Despite the challenging weather, the team adapted to ensure everyone’s availability. Another incident added to the mix when actress Mugdha Godse, part of the film’s ensemble, had a minor accident just days before filming was to commence. Rather than replacing her, Rohit and the team adjusted the shoot to allow her time to recover. Mugdha managed to return to the set within a week, even though she had to work around her injury. “She wore a neck bandage due to her accident but removed it for the shots, then put it back on between takes,” Rohit recalled, praising her dedication.
