India Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma is working on his fitness during time away from competitive cricket.

Rohit Sharma was recently spotted with former Indian cricketers during a gym session. Rohit is currently enjoying a break from competitive cricket after leading India in the recently concluded bilateral series in Sri Lanka. The World Cup-winning captain is not set to return until the Bangladesh series on September 19.

He has been utilising the free time well by keeping himself fit for the upcoming Test campaign against Bangladesh.

Pictures of the star cricketer working on his fitness have been widely shared on social media.

In one such picture, Rohit can be seen along with former India cricketer Dhawal Kulkarni, India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar posing at what appears to be a gym.

Rohit is rocking a smoky grey t-shirt and a pair of grey shorts. He could be seen signalling a thumbs up as he smiled for the photograph.

Kulkarni could be spotted towards the left as he donned a dark grey t-shirt and a pair of black shorts.

Rohit shares a good bond with his former Mumbai teammates Nayar and Kulkarni.

This is not the first time he was spotted alongside the former cricketers.

Earlier this month, the Indian cricketing trio were seen sharing a meal at a restaurant. A glimpse of their outing was shared by Kulkarni on X.

Rohit made his return to international cricket during an ODI series in Sri Lanka after guiding India to T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados earlier this year.

It was also his first series under the new coaching setup headed by Gautam Gambhir.

While India lost the ODI series 0-2, Rohit maintained his aggressive approach with the bat. He scored 58 runs in the ODI opener at the R Premadasa Stadium in a failed chase attempt. He then delivered another scintillating knock in the second fixture, scoring a 44-ball 64.

He was the top scorer for India in the third match as well, hitting 35 off 20.

Rohit will now be eager to guide India to a Test victory against Bangladesh at home. The opening fixture will be played in Chennai at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
