Team India captain Rohit Sharma clearly said that a team needs to take catches to win matches continuously. On Thursday 14 July, England defeated India by 100 runs in the second ODI played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

In the eighth over, Jason Roy was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah, who shared a 41-run partnership with Jonny Bairstow for the first wicket. Thereafter, the famous Krishna dismissed David Willey while fielding it at fine leg off Hardik Pandya.

Willie got the lifeline in the 31st over and scored 41 off 49 before Bumrah dismissed him in the 47th over. Rohit lauded the bowlers for helping India bowl out the Three Lions for 246, but he was disappointed with the batsmen and the fielders.

At the post-match presentation ceremony, Rohit was quoted as saying, “We bowled very well. He partnered with Moeen and Willie in the middle. It’s not like the target couldn’t have been chased, we didn’t get there. “

,[On the dropped catch of Willey] If you want to win the game, you have to take those catches… Overall we bowled well. We didn’t bat well. I thought the pitch would be better, but there was something for the bowlers,” he said.

Rohit also expressed concern about India’s long tail and said that one of the top-order batsmen needs to go ahead and get big scores.

,[Is the long tail an issue?] It’s been a long time… We have had enough bowling options, but we think we have a long tail. One of the top-order players should bat for as long as possible… There is a lot to look forward to. We will get there, look at the conditions and adapt,” said Rohit.
