Rohit Sharma has scored 9537 runs in 236 ODIs with 29 hundreds while Ponting has scored 13704 runs in 375 ODIs.

Gautam Gambhir has shocked the cricket fraternity as he has called Rohit Sharma a ‘better’ player than legendary Australian skipper Ricky Ponting.

Rohit has an unblemished record in ODI cricket, with the Indian skipper scoring 9537 runs in 236 ODIs at an average of 48.90 with 29 hundreds.

He has also breached the 200-run mark thrice, including his best score of 264.

Meanwhile, Ponting played 375 ODIs in his playing career between 1995–2012, scoring 13704 runs at an average of 42.03 with a best score of 164.
