Lawson Road and Karur Bypass have been selected in the Cantonment for this purpose. People are encouraged to share their proposals to develop a benchmark model to ensure equal rights for pedestrians and cyclists on other city roads.
“We would be calling upon various experts and stakeholders seeking innovative ideas for low cost and comprehensive solutions to make the city livable and enhance public space,” said Corporation Commissioner S. sivasubramanian said.
The winning ideas will receive three cash prizes for each of the two identified streets. Rs 1 lakh will be offered as first prize, Rs 75,000 for second prize and Rs 50,000 for third prize.
Interested professionals and students are requested to visit www.smartnet.niua.org to participate in the challenge.
