Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that projects worth Rs 5 lakh crore will be completed in Uttar Pradesh by 2024. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said this while handing over development projects worth more than Rs 3300 crore in Lucknow on Monday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were also present on this occasion. Along with this, he also made several announcements for the people of Lucknow, including a new flyover at the Engineering College intersection.
Gadkari said that under the leadership of PM Modi, huge investments have already been made in UP for the development of the state. Those whom Yogi ji invited for investment, he promised that they will make significant investments in UP. He said that while UP was once sick, it is now developing under the direction of CM Yogi.
“PM Modi has set a goal that India should develop into a self-reliant, happy, prosperous and powerful nation with a five trillion dollar economy. For this, our infrastructure needs to meet international standards. Infrastructure development got top priority from PM Modi. I had the privilege of working for Rs 50 lakh crore in the department, which I had the opportunity to see over the course of nine years,” he said.

Gadkari said that initially people did not believe that this was possible. “Delhi to Dehradun is a nine-hour drive, but I insisted that we can complete the journey in two hours. Now Delhi to Haridwar is 1.5 hours, Delhi to Mumbai is 12 hours, Delhi to Jaipur is 2 hours and 2.25 hours Delhi to Chandigarh. The journey from Chandigarh to Manali used to take nine hours; now that we have built a tunnel and are inaugurating it, it will take only three hours,” he said according to a press release.
“This change is very helpful for the country’s infrastructure. I want to assure you that by the end of 2024, projects worth about Rs 5 lakh crore will be completed in Uttar Pradesh, while some new works will also be started. I am happy that there has been a lot of improvement in the roads of UP. When PM Modi took charge of the country in 2014 and CM Yogi took charge of Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the picture changed,” Gadkari said.
The Union Minister said that Lucknow has been important since the Ramayana period. The city is named after Lakshman, the brother of Lord Shri Ram. Yogi gave a solid vision for the development of UP. I told him that I have been talking about ethanol since 2004. UP’s ethanol will not only be used to power vehicles in the future, but will also power the world’s airplanes. The Union Minister also praised CM Yogi for improving law and order in the state.
